01. Description

Kooddoo Airport was initially launched in 2012. It has now been upgraded and re-opened in 2017 with an extended runway.

The opening ceremony took place at the airport runway. It was reopened by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. The President was accompanied at the ceremony by Minister of Tourism Moosa Zameer, Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed, Chief Executive Officer of Kooddoo Airport Mohamed Ali Janah, and Chairman of Pristine Island Investment Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Ronald Leo.The aircraft was a given a water salute by the fire department of the Airport. The event was attended by many guests including shareholders of the Mercure Kooddoo Resort, the airport shareholders and the public.

After opening the airport, the airport website and the official uniform were launched.
