Maldives celebrates 50 years of Tourism.
With the first resort opened on 03rd October 1972, Maldives has now completed 50 years since then with over 167 resorts operational now.
Ministry of Tourism celebrated the occasion over 3 days. An “Appreciation Reception” was held at Crossroads Maldives on 29th September 2022 as an appreciation dinner for industry partners and stakeholders to celebrate the success story of Maldives tourism. This event was followed by “Maldives National Tourism Day Function” at Dharubaaruge on 02nd October 2022 where the first Maldives Tourism Awards were given away to the winners. The last event was held on 03rd October 2022 at Kurumba Maldives to celebrate Maldives Tourism 50th Anniversary Gala night where the President’s Tourism Gold Awards were presented to the main contributors of the industry.
Hotels and Resort Construction Pvt Ltd was awarded Special Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Development of Tourism in the Maldives by the President during Gala Award Ceremony celebrating National Tourism Day 50th Anniversary.
