President of International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Associations (IFAWPCA), Mr. Mohamed Ali Janah, attended the Cambodia Construction Industry Expo 2018 held at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center, Cambodia today upon the kind invitation from Cambodia Constructors Association’s Chairman, Neak Oknha Pung Kheav Se.
Attendees for this prestigious function included Chief Guest His Excellency Chea Sophara, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Land Management Urban Planning and Construction, His Excellency Suy Serith, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh Municipality and Her Excellency Eva Nguyen Binh, French Ambassador to Cambodia in addition to Mr. Janah.
While addressing the function, Mr. Janah expressed his heartfelt gratitude to CCA for their kind invitation and applauded CCA’s contribution in promoting the industry’s best practices and emphasized on the important role played by CCA and their government to act as a dialogue partner to disseminate messages that makes it easier for policy makers to address the needs of the industry as well as the governments.
Subsequent to the inauguration of Mr. Janah as the 45th IFAWPCA President, Cambodia is the first IFAWPCA member country that he has visited to begin his pledge to visit all member countries within the next 16 months. He will be traveling to meet the respective country members, contractors and government officials, and international organizations to address the issues faced by member countries in the Asian and Western Pacific region, and also to promote the 45th IFAWPCA convention which is to be held in the Maldives in 2020.
The function organized by CCA was attended by other notable guests such as Mr. Xu Ningning, President of China-ASEAN Business Council ( CABC), Mr. Abdulla Mohamed, Secretary General of IFAWPCA & President of Maldives National Association of Construction Industry (MNACI), Mr. Ahmed Alau Ali, Board Member of IFAWPCA & Vice President of MNACI and Mr. Abdulla Salih, Co-Chair of IFAWPCA 2020 Organizing Committee and Executive Board Member of MNACI and high level officials from government of Cambodia and private sectors.
